As most of you already know, video games based on movies tend to suck pretty bad. Iwish I knewthe reason why video game manufacturers can’t figure out how to make a great game out of a movie property.

Maybe having to follow the movies plot makes creativity dry up. Or maybe since they have to design the game for all the systems and portables at once, it’s hard to utilize any of the great graphics the better systems are capable of. I’ve heard from more than one developer that when you have to design for all the systems at once, you’re forced to compromise on graphics and gameplay so less work is needed to port the game to all the systems.

Of course a high profile game can work around these issues as they have a bigger budget…but a game like “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”…I don’t think they’re working with a lot of extra money. The game is being made for the young teenager, with a few extra copies being sold to die hard “Wolverine” fans.

What that means is…the game is going to be another in the long line of mediocre movie adaptations.

I’d love to be proved wrong, as I would like nothing more than to play a kick ass Wolverine game. We’ll see in early May (when the game is released) if my prediction is accurate.

Until then, here are a bunch of new screenshots. “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” is being released on every console and portable device….
