Adam Driver Talks INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS, Working with the Coen Brothers, How He Prepares for a Role, the BATMAN vs. SUPERMAN Rumors, and More

Now playing in limited release and expanding this weekend is one of the best films of the year: Joel and Ethan Coen‘s Inside Llewyn Davis.  The story takes place in the Greenwich Village folk scene in 1961, and follows singer Llewyn Davis (Oscar Isaac) as he struggles with his career and strained personal relationships.  Loaded with incredible performances, an all-star cast (featuring Carey Mulligan, Justin Timberlake, John Goodman, Garrett Hedlund, F. Murray Abraham, Adam Driver, Stark Sands and Max Casella), and a fantastic soundtrack (put together by T-Bone Burnett), Inside Llewyn Davis should not be missed.  For more on the film, read Matt’s review.

At the Los Angeles press day, I landed a video interview with Adam Driver.  He talked about what it was like auditioning for the film, how much of his dialogue was in the script versus figuring out on set, if his process has changed over the past few years, the rumor that he might play Nightwing in Batman vs. Superman, and a lot more.  Hit the jump to watch.

Adam Driver:

  • How the last year has been pretty great.
  • What was it like going in to meet with the Coen’s for the role?
  • He’s part of a very funny scene/song in the film. How much was his dialogue in the script versus finding it on set?
  • Did he ever go to set when he wasn’t filming just to watch?
  • Has his process for getting ready for a role changed over the past few years?
  • Is he a fan of Batman and Superman comics?
  • Is there any truth to the rumors he’s going to play Nightwing?
  • What does it mean to him to be mentioned for this role?
