‘Agent Carter’ Season 2: Watch Peggy Try and Save California from Itself

     November 23, 2015

The warmer weather and bolder color palette have not zapped Peggy Carter’s (Hayley Atwell) energy when it comes to punching everyone necessary to keep a place from going to hell in a handbasket, no sir! ABC’s latest Agent Carter Season 2 promo not only features more Jarvis (James D’Arcy thank you), but also Peggy in full-on action hero mode. She may not have superpowers, but she’s still a super woman.

I’m glad Agent Carter was given a second season with a new locale and, it seems, a new vitality. The show is gorgeously crafted (seriously, some of Peggy’s fashions in this promo are beyond lovely) and has a great cast. Plus, Peggy Carter is a true dynamo, and a very different kind of kickass female protagonist in the Marvel world than (the also excellent) Jessica Jones. She’s also a world away from DC’s Supergirl, and yet, they struggle against some of the same gender bias in both of their stories.

Anyway, three cheers for Peggy and her desire to keep California from itself, if at all possible. Check out the new promo below; Agent Carter returns to ABC Tuesday, January 5th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Agent Carter Season 2:

“Marvel’s Agent Carter” returns for a second season of adventure and intrigue, starring Hayley Atwell in the titular role of the unstoppable agent for the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve). Dedicated to the fight against new Atomic Age threats in the wake of World War II, Peggy must now journey from New York City to Los Angeles for her most dangerous assignment yet. But even as she discovers new friends, a new home – and perhaps even a new love – she’s about to find out that the bright lights of the post-war Hollywood mask a more sinister threat to everyone she is sworn to protect.

“Marvel’s Agent Carter” stars Hayley Atwell as Agent Peggy Carter, James D’Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, Enver Gjokaj as Chief Daniel Sousa, Wynn Everett as Whitney Frost, Reggie Austin as Jason Wilkes and Chad Michael Murray as Chief Jack Thompson. Tara Butters, Michele Fazekas, Christopher Markus, Stephen McFeely, Chris Dingess, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Joe Quesada, Stan Lee and Jeph Loeb are executive producers. “Marvel’s Agent Carter” is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television.
