Limited Paper Giveaway: Alexander Iaccarino’s EVANGELION Poster

     January 5, 2013

Whatta the Mayans know, anyway?!  We made it to 2013, and here at Limited Paper we’re going to kick the year off with a trio of awesome giveaways.  The first of which is ready to roll right now (the other two will be rolling out over the next week or so, and believe me when I say all three are awesome), and we’re also going to make it very, very easy for one Limited Paper reader to collect one of Alexander Iaccarino’s awesome Evangelion posters.  Wanna see this poster in a series of hi-def closeups?  Find out how to win?  Want a few hints as to what other prints we’re giving away over the next week or two?  Meet me after the jump, folks.

About midway through 2012, poster fans everywhere had their worlds rocked when Alexander Iaccarino’s flat-out gorgeous Akira print made its stunning, totally-outta-nowhere debut.  Within hours of that print showing up on our radar, the entire run had sold out, and Iaccarino had gone from being “largely unknown artist Alexander Iaccarino” to “up-and-coming artist Alexander Iaccarino”.   Months later, Iaccarino’s “up-and-coming artist” label has officially become “steadily-working artist” (you probably remember us covering his Kill Bill and The Last of Us posters), and his latest work—a poster based on the famed Manga Evangelion—perfectly illustrates (no pun intended) why so many galleries and collectors are after his stuff:  this guy’s posters rock.

Anyway, we’re here today to give away one of Alexander Iaccarino’s recently-released Evangelion posters (you can check out some of his other work—or, if you don’t feel lucky, you can just buy one of his Evangelion prints—over at Iaccarino’s website, located here), and to celebrate the dawn of 2013 we’re not even going to make ya work that hard for it:  just send an email containing your name and address to , include “I Want EVANGELION on My Walls” in the subject line, and on Monday at midnight we’ll pick a winner.  Tuesday we’ll announce the lucky recipient.  It’s just that easy, folks!

Now, it’s worth noting that this print actually dropped just before the end of 2012, but a wicked flu/sinus infection/possible poisoning perpetrated by a rival online journalist who also writes about poster stuff kept Limited Paper from giving it the attention it deserved when it dropped.  We asked Alex to send over some images of the print for your perusal, and the detail shots he sent back are fantastic.  Let’s check ‘em out:

Pretty damn snazzy, right?  I’m the farthest thing in the world from a Manga fan, but even I can appreciate this one.  Make sure that if you’re going to enter you follow the (extremely-easy-and-hopefully-impossible-to-mess-up directions that I’ve included above, and stay tuned to find out who won: we’ll announce the winner on the Limited Paper Twitter feed), where we’ll also be dropping a few hints about the other prints we’re giving away over the next week or two.  I did promise a few hints in this piece, though, so here they are:  one of them will be accompanied by a brief interview with an actor who starred in my all-time favorite bad movie, the other will feature a retro sci-fi superhero with art from a guy who produced some of the best posters at Mondo’s Universal Monsters Gallery show.  Too revealing?  Eh, you guys’d figure it out no matter what.

Stay tuned for those giveaways—along with much, much more—in the near future, folks.  We’re headed into year two of Limited Paper here at, and after a triumphant first year we can’t wait to see where this weird-ass little hobby of ours takes us.  In the meantime: if you’re an artist or gallery with artwork you’d like to see featured on Limited Paper (or if you’re just some lucky bastard who happened to overhear a bit of poster-related gossip while standing in the bushes outside Martin Ansin’s house) we wanna hear from you!  Email Limited Paper directly at, and be sure that you’re following us on Twitter via @LimitedPaper for ongoing commentary, news updates, giveaways, and more!
