Yesterday, 20th Century Fox unveiled the first footage for Ridley Scott‘s return to R-Rated space horror, Alien: Covenant, during a big footage presentation teasing their 2017 release slate. The full written reactions are under embargo for now, but the folks in the room were free to tweet about the some 15-minutes of footage they saw (including a teaser trailer), and so far everyone seems unanimous — Covenant looks like a hard-R return to form for the franchise.
Not much is known about Scott’s semi-sequel to Prometheus, which finds Michael Fassbender reprising his role of David the android, who will encounter a new crew of explorers played by Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Billy Crudup, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Carmen Ejogo, and Callie Hernandez. Yesterday’s footage presentation revealed that the crew of the Covenant are a team of colonists, largely made up of couples. And the footage reactions revealed that those colonists are going to get majorly messed up by a whole lot of Neomorphs.
Look for Alien: Covenant to descend on May 19, 2017, keep an eye out for the first trailer, which is likely to drop in front of Assassin’s Creed, and check out the footage reactions below.
