New ‘American Horror Story’ Season 6 Teaser Trailers Are Kind of Messed Up

     July 29, 2016

FX is continuing to tease American Horror Story Season 6, even as we still don’t know what in the world this season is about. The first teaser trailers landed online earlier this week, and now three more have been released that are varying degrees of disturbing. The previous teasers offered up some tantalizing clues as to what this season might entail—namely the potential of focusing on the Satan baby that was born at the end of Season 1’s “Murder House.” These new teasers don’t lean as heavily on that conceit, instead giving us a look at an alien and/or ghost family, a dude getting his head stapled together, and an insect-themed teaser that will send shivers down your spine if you, like me, have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to creepy bugs.

This being the sixth season of American Horror Story it seems apt to have a Satanic-leaning story, and the number six has certainly been highlighted in all of the promotional materials thus far. The anthology series, like all Ryan Murphy shows, has been wildly hit or miss. Murder House was solid, Asylum was boring, Coven was silly, and Freak Show was a downright snooze. Last season, Hotel, was the best season of the series yet as far as I’m concerned, and with Lady Gaga returning to star, I’m mighty curious to see what Season 6 might have in store for audiences.

As we learned last year, all of these seasons of American Horror Story are inter-connected, so it would make sense for Season 6 to revolve around the demon spawn from Season 1. It’s been confirmed that this year will take place in the present and will involve “children and operatic themes.”

Check out all of the teasers thus far below and sound off with your guesses in the comments. American Horror Story Season 6 premieres on FX on September 14th and also stars Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Finn Wittrock, Matt Bomer, Denis O’Hare, Cheyenne Jackson, and Leslie Jordan.
