Now playing in theaters is Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. Based on the novel of the same name by Ransom Riggs, the film stars Asa Butterfield as a young boy who stumbles upon a secret refuge for supernaturally gifted youngsters, headed up by the mysterious Miss Peregrine (Eva Green) only to learn that the children are in danger from ever-growing malevolent forces. The film also stars Samuel L. JacksonElla Purnell, Judi DenchChris O’Dowd, Allison JanneyTerence StampKim Dickens, and Rupert Everett and was scripted by Jane Goldman (Kick-AssX-Men: First Class). As a fan of Burton’s work, I’m happy to report the film is a lot of fun. It’s also one of those times where the material and director are perfectly suited for one another. Definitely recommended.

At the New York City press day, I sat down with Asa Butterfield and Ella Purnell for an exclusive interview. They talked about collaborating with Tim Burton, their favorite parts of the world, what they collect, and more. Check out what they had to say in the video above.
