ASH VS EVIL DEAD Teaser Trailer and Poster Preview the Starz Series

     April 2, 2015

Our first look at the Evil Dead TV show is here! Well, kinda. Starz has unveiled the very first Ash vs Evil Dead teaser trailer, offering a brief first look at the upcoming original series that continues Sam Raimi’s excellent horror franchise. Raimi executive produces the show alongside Bruce Campbell and Rob Tapert—the trio behind all the Evil Dead films—and the story finds Ash once again battling a Deadite plague after 30 years of avoiding responsibility, maturity, and the terrors of the Evil Dead.

This teaser is very much a teaser as production hasn’t quite begun yet, but it’s fun to get a graphic tease of what’s sure to be a highly anticipated series. Raimi is directing the first episode, which he co-wrote with Ivan Raimi, Craig DiGregorio, and Tom Spezialy. DiGregorio—whose credits include Workaholics and Chuck—will act as showrunner.

Check out the first Ash vs Evil Dead teaser trailer below, via Starz. Filming is about to get underway in New Zealand, and the cast also includes Lucy Lawless, Jill Marie Jones, Ray Santiago, and Dana DeLorenzo. The 10-episode first season of Ash vs Evil Dead will premiere on Starz in late 2015.

Here’s the logline for Ash vs Evil Dead:

Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead.  When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal.  Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.

The cast is led by Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, “Burn Notice”) in the role of Ash Williams, Lucy Lawless (“Salem,” “Spartacus”) as Ruby a mysterious figure who believes Ash is the cause of the Evil outbreaks, Jill Marie Jones (“Sleepy Hollow”) as Amanda Fisher, a disgraced Michigan State Trooper set to find our anti-hero Ash and prove his responsibility in the grisly murder of her partner, Ray Santiago (“Touch,” Meet the Fockers) as Pablo Simon Bolivar, an idealistic immigrant who becomes Ash’s loyal sidekick and Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) as Kelly Maxwell, a moody wild child trying to outrun her past.
