New AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Clip Finds Black Widow Calming a Moody Hulk

     April 13, 2015

This morning, Marvel released the first Avengers: Age of Ultron clip featuring a very aggressive Hulk battling Tony Stark’s Hulkbuster armor. This afternoon, Marvel has released another Age of Ultron clip of a different sort, showing a sweeter and softer side to Mark Ruffalo’s big green guy. If it wasn’t evident from the trailers, this clip settles it: there’s something going on between Bruce Banner and Black Widow. Scarlett Johansson softly calms the angry Hulk down, resulting in a de-transformation back into Banner.

The clip is a nice preview of some compassion that I hope permeates throughout Age of Ultron, and it also provides an excellent look at the advanced CG effects used to bring Hulk to life in the follow-up. He was one of the standout characters of The Avengers, and it looks like Joss Whedon and his team have made him even better from a visual standpoint. Interactions between CG and live-action characters aren’t easy to pull off, but this clip nails it.

Check out the new Avengers: Age of Ultron clip below via Marvel, and click on the corresponding links for the film’s press conference, Kevin Feige talking about when his contract ends, and about Spider-Man, and Whedon talking about his “break from Marvel”Avengers: Age of Ultron opens in 3D on May 1st, and also stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark RuffaloJeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Elizabeth Olsen, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Chris Hemsworth.

Here’s the official synopsis for Avengers: Age of Ultron:
