AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON First Reactions Hit the Web

     April 9, 2015

Tonight marked the first press screening for Avengers: Age of Ultron and the critics/junketeers are spilling out of the theater now and are already tweeting furiously. It’s no surprise that most of these reactions are super positive (some of them are downright breathless). There’s a lot of great talent involved in the film and writer/director Joss Whedon was likely quite careful to avoid the pacing issues that plagued the first half of the first Avengers film (I’m sure the fact that the team has already been assembled sort of helps in that regard as well).

Check out the first Avengers: Age of Ultron reactions below. New York reactions are in first, and we’ll update later with thoughts from Los Angeles critics, who screen the film at 7:30 PST.  Check out the new Avengers: Age of Ultron TV spot below. The films opens in 3D and 2D on May 1st, and also stars Chris EvansMark RuffaloJeremy RennerSamuel L. JacksonElizabeth OlsenAaron Taylor-Johnson, and Chris Hemsworth.

Here’s the official synopsis for Avengers: Age of Ultron:

Marvel Studios presents “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.
