THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON to Film “Key Elements” in Seoul, South Korea

Filming began on Marvel’s highly anticipated sequel The Avengers: Age of Ultron last week in Johannesburg, South Africa on a sequence that will take place during the first 10 minutes of the film, but Marvel has announced yet another international shooting location for the superhero follow-up.  Per THR, The Avengers 2 will be filming “key elements” in Seoul, South Korea, with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige noting that the country is the perfect fit for the film because it “features cutting-edge technology, beautiful landscapes, and spectacular architecture.”  It’s unknown how long the production will be filming in Seoul, but the bulk of shooting will take place at Shepperton Studios in London, with the U.S. and Italy also serving as other filming locations.

Joss Whedon wrote the script and has returned as director for the pic, and the cast includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, and James SpaderThe Avengers: Age of Ultron opens in theaters May 1, 2015.
