Will the First BATMAN V SUPERMAN Trailer Be Attached to JUPITER ASCENDING?

     January 8, 2015

Now that we’ve got the first Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer out of the way, it’s time to look ahead even further to another blockbuster property.  Some hoped that we would get the first Batman v Superman trailer before the end of 2014, which was a bit unrealistic since the film doesn’t come out until March 25, 2016.  Keep in mind that the first trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron, the biggest comparable film, was released back in October, seven months before the movie opens.  There was a Comic-Con trailer for Batman v Superman, but I’m glad Warner Bros. has so far only screened it for the people who waited in line an entire day to see it in Hall H.

Still, people want to get a look what director Zack Snyder has planned since he’s kept the project mostly shrouded in secrecy to the point where Jesse Eisenberg‘s bald Lex Luthor head was literally under wraps.   But fans may not have to wait much longer to see the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer.  However, they’ll have to buy a ticket to Jupiter Ascending first.  Hit the jump for more.

Latino-Review reports that the Batman v Superman teaser will be attached to Jupiter Ascending, which opens on February 6th:

Batman v Superman finished shooting a little over a month ago, so there could be some very brief footage ready to go.

There’s also the possibility that Warner Bros. could just release the Comic-Con trailer rather than something entirely new, which is what Marvel did with their first trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Age of Ultron.  That’s a bit of a letdown for the 6,000 people who already saw the trailer, but trailers don’t really matter all that much at this point.  Unless it’s Star Wars, the king of geek movie franchises and one that’s had a following for almost forty years, then a teaser this early is really for the fans who pour over movie blogs.  General moviegoers who see the trailer in a theater will think, “Huh.  So that’s what Ben Affleck will look like as Batman,” and then move on to the next trailer.

But if it takes the first Batman v Superman trailer to get people to come out and see an original film like Jupiter Ascending, I’m all for it.
