New Trailer for Netflix’s BETWEEN Shows the Impact of an Ageist Plague

     May 13, 2015

New Netflix series Between is about a small town facing a mysterious disease that rapidly kills off everyone over 21 years old. Basically, it’s an advertiser’s dream (and probably the CW’s, too). Speaking of the CW, the premise (see the full synopsis below) sounds a little bit like The 100, although with more resources to start.

Netflix, who is responsible for changing the game when it comes to binge-watching TV, is changing things up again by not allowing us to binge Between. Why doth thou torment us so, Netflix? The streaming giant’s latest series is a Canadian TV co-production, so Americans will be seeing new episodes on a  slightly delayed — and weekly — schedule. According to a press release, each new episode (of an eventual six) will become available starting Thursday, May 21st at 8:30 p.m. PT, and will be released weekly after that, also on Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. PT. Of course, you could always wait until they have all been released, and binge it then.

And here is the official synopsis for the series:

BETWEEN is the story of a town under siege from a mysterious disease that has wiped out everybody except those 21 years old and under. The series explores the power vacuum that results when a government has quarantined a 10-mile diameter area and left the inhabitants to fend for themselves.

An original survivalist thriller series, BETWEEN was created by award-winning writer/director Michael McGowan (Still Mine, One Week, Saint Ralph) and stars Jennette McCurdy (iCarly, Sam & Cat). The series is executive produced by McGowan, Don Carmody, David Cormican, and Naveen Prasad.
