Jude Law & Gemma Chan Tease a ‘Captain Marvel’ Deleted Scene with the Kree Supreme Intelligence

     March 6, 2019

Bringing Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) into the Marvel Cinematic Universe via Captain Marvel is a very big deal, but so is the introduction – or rather, expansion – of a certain cosmic race from Marvel lore, the Kree. At the start of the film, Carol is operating as a Kree warrior in the Special Forces-like group known as Star Force. That’s where we met Jude Law‘s character, the leader of the group, and also Gemma Chan‘s character, Minn-erva, Star Force’s expert sharpshooter. Yes, they’re both badass in battle, but there’s so much more to the Kree mentality and lifestyle that adds an interesting wrinkle to Captain Marvel and to the MCU overall, even beyond what we’ve already seen from Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser and Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer in Guardians of the Galaxy.

With Captain Marvel‘s March 8th release right around the corner, I got to chat with Law and Chan and opted to dig into their take on Kree ideology, specifically what components of their beliefs they’re drawn to most and what their characters might see should they pay the Kree Supreme Intelligence a visit. On top of that, they also spoke about their experience joining the MCU and shared something about themselves that’s so bizarre, a Skrull couldn’t even come up with it. Check it all out the video interview at the top of this article!
