Chow No Longer Flies THE GREEN HORNET

Sad news to report today; no, not the death of an actor or the announcement of yet another horrible Spoof Movie. Today, Variety is reporting that Stephen Chow will no longer direct Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s upcoming film, “The Green Hornet”. According to the article, he stepped out over “creative differences”. Specifically, the difference was that Chow wanted to make the movie awesome but the studio had polling data showing that audience members were luke-warm on awesome and were really more in the mood for bland and derivative.

Thankfully, Chow is still on board to play the Hornet’s sidekick Kato but nevertheless, this news definitely bums me out as it would bum out anyone who’s seen “Shaolin Soccer” or “Kung-Fu Hustle”. The studio will try to find a new director as soon as possible so the film can begin shooting by the spring. Said director must be able to handle disagreements with his stars and know how to deflect roundhouse kicks. Seth Rogen is known for his roundhouse kicks.
