Chris Pratt and Dwayne Johnson Are Challenging You to Do 22 Pushups

     August 16, 2016

Chris Pratt and Dwayne Johnson are some of the most fan-friendly actors on social media today. They’re also among the most physically gifted, so when I caught wind that they were doing something called the #22PushupChallenge, my first thought was, “C’mon, guys, you can do better than that.”

Then I learned, via Fuse.TV and the advocacy site 22Kill, that the challenge aims to raise awareness and donations for the 22 military veterans who commit suicide every day due to the effects of post-traumatic stress. Much like the “ice bucket challenge” that raised $115 million for ALS/Lou Gehrig’s disease, the #22Pushups challenge looks to use the far-reaching power of social media to spread the word about this terrible reality. The tally is currently over 7.5 million pushups with an end-goal of 22 million, a goal they’re likely to reach before long with the help of folks like Pratt and his wife Anna Faris, Johnson, Kevin Hart, and NFL player J.J. Watt.

Here are some examples of celebrities participating in the #22PushupChallenge:
