New Rumors Abound as Christopher Nolan’s INTERSTELLAR Films in Iceland

     September 9, 2013

We previously posted some corny news related to rumors on Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, a sci-fi picture that follows a group of space explorers journeying through a wormhole.  Today, we’ve got something that could prove to be a little more substantial as it comes from the Icelandic set of the film where Nolan has constructed some reportedly massive practical fixtures.  We’ll save those details until after the jump.

As for the new info, the sources report that Nolan’s practical set includes “a large-scale set piece in the shape of a spaceship crash” and “some sort of Drones” built for the film.  In addition to those two bits of info, “a bigger aircraft will be featured. Something [the] source refers to as The Mother Ship.”

Now we can speculate until the space cows come home, but we probably won’t know anything for sure until summer of 2014.  Is Iceland, in all its various landscapes, a setting for a future Earth? An alien world? A human colony?  No idea.  Is the crashed ship that of our protagonists or someone else?  Are the drones ours, or do they perhaps belong to this Mother Ship?  Your guess is as good as mine (at least until some more set photos leak) so feel free to start putting the pieces together in your Interstellar scrap books.
