suicide-squad-posterIt’s our first show of the week, which means it’s time for the weekend box office report brought to you by AMC Theaters.  STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS was finally knocked out of the top spot, and it was supplanted by the Kevin Hart/Ice Cube comedy RIDE ALONG, taking in $35.3 million at the top spot.  Number 2 was THE REVENANT, with a strong $31.8 million ahead of #3 STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS which earned 26.3 million.  #4 is the new Michael Bay movie 13 HOURS, and #5 is the Will Ferrell/Mark Wahlberg yuk-fest DADDY’S HOME…BEARLY beating out NORM OF THE NORTH.  Mark, what stands to you about this weekend’s box office?

Universal Pictures has just greenlit a new comedy that will star Tina Fey and…wait for it…Rhonda Rousey.  The SNL vet and MMA star will pair up for DO NOTHING BITCHES…a group of wealthy, pampered wives get their life overhauled by an intense instructor with a unique philosophy.  Fey will play one of the trainees under Rousey’s tuteledge.  Schnepp, will you be lining up to see DO NOTHING BITCHES opening night?

A new poster for SUICIDE SQUAD dropped this week, in advance of a trailer set to drop tonight during the “DC Films Presents: Dawn of the Justice League” special on the CW at 9:30 EST.  In addition to the poster featuring the antiheroes, individual posters also surfaced…members of the cast and director David Ayer tweeted them out saying “Worst. Heroes. Ever.”  Dennis, buy or sell these new posters for SUICIDE SQUAD?

Ever since Ben Affleck signed on to play the Dark Knight, rumors have been been swirling about whether he’ll direct a future Batman movie.  And his recent comments only fan the flame further.

Schnepp, buy or sell Ben Affleck directing a future Batman movie?

Like it or not, DIE HARD: YEAR ONE is happening, and director Len Wiseman gave some tidbits on what fans of the franchise can expect to see.  Speaking with at the TCA’s, he describes the new film as a “prequel/sequel”, and stated that both him and Willis had lengthy discussions about John McClane’s origin story after the duo made LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD.

The film itself will take place on New Year’s Eve, 1979, and will also feature intercuts with a modern-day McClane.  Mark, buy or sell these comments about DIE HARD: YEAR ONE by Wiseman?

Now it’s time for our OPENING THIS WEEK segment, brought to you by our friends at AMC Theaters.  Today we focus on THE FIFTH WAVE, starring Chloe Moretz, Nick Robinson and Liev Schreiber.  After a series of alien attacks have decimated Earth, earthquakes, tsunamis and disease threaten the very survival of the human species.  Percocious teen Casey Sullivan (Moretz) must reunite with her brother (Zackary Arthur) and form an alliance with a young man who may be her last hope (Alex Roe).  The two must learn to trust each other and battle for mankind as a fifth alien assault looms large.

Dennis, should audiences be excited to experience THE FIFTH WAVE?

Greetings and salutations. With the recent outrage over the lack of diversity from the Oscars, people are saying things like they’ll boycott the oscars. Are they over reacting just a bit? I do not think the actors from Straight Outta Compton were better than the list that is out now, even Concussion was okay, not great. Will the fans ever be happy?

Hey! Im 17, from Philly and Ive been watching everyday for a year and a half. Anyway, do you think we will see a new Civil War trailer and a NEW Batman V Superman trailer during the superbowl? Or should DC not show anything new at this point? Thanks. Go Panthers! *Dabs like Cam Newton*
