The first trailer for the highly anticipated Alejandro G. Iñárritu film The Revenant has just hit the web. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy and is described like this: In an expedition of the uncharted American wilderness, legendary explorer Hugh Glass (Leonardo DiCaprio) is brutally attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team. In a quest to survive, Glass endures unimaginable grief as well as the betrayal of his confidant John Fitzgerald (Tom Hardy). Guided by sheer will and the love of his family, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live and find redemption. The Revenant opens in limited release on Christmas day with a wide release on January 8th.

We already know that Jon Watts will be directing the new Spider-Man reboot for Sony Pictures, and it looks like we now know who will be writing it. According to a new report, the writers and directors of the upcoming Vacation movie, John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein, are in talks to write the Spider-Man script. The pair were said to be in the running to also direct the new Spider-Man before it was given to Watts and have previously worked on films like Horrible Bosses, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. The new Spider-Man film is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 28th 2017.

The new film Legend, the true story of the rise and fall of London’s most notorious gangsters, Reggie and Ron Kray, both portrayed by Tom Hardy, is set to open in limited release in the US on October 2nd and has just dropped a new trailer online. Legend is a classic crime thriller taking us into the secret history of the 1960s and the extraordinary events that secured the infamy of the Kray twins.

peter-pan-movie-posterWhen the new teaser trailer for the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse was shown at Comic-Con, many people debated the look of the title character Apocalypse. Some thought he looked great, others thought he looked awful and reminded them more of a Power Rangers villain. Now, Entertainment Weekly has released the first images from the new film including a cover photo of Apocalypse, Magneto and Psylocke. X-Men: Apocalypse is currently set to hit theaters on May 27th.

A lot of new trailers today as a new one from director Joe Wright’s Peter Pan origin story, Pan, has hit the web. Offering a new take on the origin of the classic characters created by J.M. Barrie, Pan follows the story of an orphan who is spirited away to the magical Neverland. There, he finds both fun and dangers, and ultimately discovers his destiny-to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan. The film stars Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard, Garrett Hedlund as Hook, Oscar nominee Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily and newcomer Levi Miller as Peter. PAN opens in theatres on October 9th.

Peter Clark writes: “Hey guys, it’s so great to see how far your show has come over the years! On behalf of all your Australian fans I’d like to give a big thank you! My question is in regard to The Force Awakens and the heavy focus on marketing practical effects. Whilst it all looks great, and it is certainly what all the fans want, I am a tiny bit worried that it could be an attempt to avoid showing us aspects they aren’t so confident on, such as the story and character development. I want nothing more than this to be false, but I would just like to know your opinion on the prospect.”

Jonathan Guillen Ros writes: “Hi, Collider Team! Happy to see most of the gang back in action! Don’t know if you’ve heard but around September Brad Bird’s The Iron Giant will get a Digital Remaster and two additional scenes, all directed by Bird himself in a few theaters and then a new Blu-Ray with it. What do you think of movies that weren’t a hit getting a second chance in theaters, even if it’s for a limited release and specially for such good and underrated film? Thanks and keep bringing the filthy!”
