’Con Man’: Watch the First Episode of Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk’s Series for Free

     October 8, 2015

If you’ve been following Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion’s Con Man project, you’ll know that the duo broke crowdfunding records in their quest to make it. The web series features a show-within-a-show concept, and chronicles the sci-fi convention scene, where the former Firefly team star as Jack Moore (Fillion) and Wray Nerely (Tudyk), who were the leads in a cult-classic TV series (sound familiar?) Moore is an A-list actor, while Nerely is still looking for his break, and the series follows them as they learn to embrace the fandom who loves them (sometimes too much).

You have 24 hours from the time this posted to check the episode out before time’s up, at which point (or before) you can also buy or rent the rest of the season on Vimeo. So far, 7 of the season’s 13 episodes have been released, and the remaining 6 will be delivered in 2 batches (got that math?)

For more Con Man, you can also visit the web series’ official Twitter and Facebook page.

Here’s a full synopsis for the series:

CON MAN is a lighthearted take on the personalities, luminaries, comic book stores, and characters they have run into during their years in the sci-fi community and convention circuit, while telling the story of a guy learning to love and embrace his fans. CON MAN centers around the post-show life of Wray Nerely (Alan Tudyk), the pilot and co-star of SPECTRUM, a sci-fi series which was cancelled before it’s time and eventually became a cult classic beloved by fans. Wray’s good friend, Jack Moore (Nathan Fillion) starred in the series and has gone on to become a major celebrity, while Wray continued to struggle to find his big break. While Jack enjoys the life of an A-lister, Wray tours the sci-fi circuit as a guest of conventions, comic book stores, and lots of pop culture events. The show will explore all the weird and crazy things that happen to Wray along the way, while telling the story of a guy learning to love and embrace his fans.
