PROMO: Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Crimson Peak’ Shows That Love Makes Monsters of Us All

     October 15, 2015

There is no director working today more imaginative than Guillermo Del Toro. Just looking at the versatility of his work—the cult fanfare of Hellboy, the inventive allegory of Pan’s Labyrinth, the boy-like whimsy of Pacific Rim—it’s easy to see why, when it comes to cinematic originality, the crown belongs to him.

Now, the master of dark fairy tales takes audiences on a new adventure in Crimson Peak. Featuring an all-star cast that includes Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska and Charlie Hunnam, Crimson Peak is a fascinating hybrid of gothic romance and terrifying thriller that blurs the fine line between desire and darkness. When her heart is stolen by a seductive stranger (Hiddleston), a young woman (Wasikowska) is swept away to a house built atop a mountain of blood-red clay. Once there, she realizes that it is no ordinary home, but a place filled with secrets that will haunt her forever.

Not only does Crimson Peak feature four of the strongest actors of this generation, but—as is expected from any Del Toro film—it also features beautiful costumes, haunting locations, and stunning production design.

Crimson Peak hits theaters Friday. To get an immersive experience within the house at the heart of Del Toro’s latest masterpiece, be sure to visit Crimson Peak Awaits.
