Critics Choice Awards Winners: BIRDMAN Leads with Seven Wins Including Two for Michael Keaton; BOYHOOD Wins Best Picture

Now that we’ve moved past our outrage over the Academy Award nominations, it’s time to move into fresh outrage over award winners.  The Critics Choice Awards were last night, and while the Broadcast Film Critics Association chose Boyhood as their pick for Best Picture, they showed the most love to Birdman as it picked up seven awards including Best Screenplay, Best Acting Ensemble, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Score, and two wins for Michael Keaton—Best Actor and Best Actor in a Comedy.  The Critics Choice Awards also showed the benefit of having fun categories like Best Actress in an Action Movie (Emily Blunt, Edge of Tomorrow) and Best Sci-Fi/Horror Movie (Interstellar).
