daredevil-season-2-sliceIf you haven’t yet seen Jessica Jones, do us all a favor and remedy that situation stat. For the rest of us, it’s now in our rearview mirror, and that means it’s time to set Daredevil Season 2 in our sight. Though Marvel and Netflix have yet to announce an official release date, a new rumor buzzing about the Web states the hotly anticipated new run will drop earlier than expected.

Based on info gleaned from “independent sources,” reports that Daredevil will return to the streaming service on March 25. If you’re wondering why that date sounds familiar, it’s because it is. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled to hit theaters on the same day. For DC’s sake, let’s hope this report isn’t true. You may recall that the Man of Steel follow-up was originally slated for release on the same day as Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War before Warner Bros. switched to the earlier slot.

After the wild success of Daredevil’s first season, season 2 will introduce Elektra and The Punisher by way of Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) and Jon Bernthal (The Walking Dead). The returning players, which include Charlie Cox as the man without fear, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple, and Scott Glenn as Stick, may also feature Mike Colter’s Luke Cage.

While we wait for an official plot synopsis on season 2, showrunner Doug Petrie teased to Entertainment Weekly:

Viewers watching the show will be rooting for this guy with a gun [The Punisher] but we’re also going to force people — the way we force Matt — to second-guess themselves. Taking lethal justice into your own hands in America in 2015 is tricky s–t. We have not shied away from the rich complicated reality of Now. If you’ve got a gun and you’re not the police you’re going to incite strong feelings. We’re stirring the pot and we’re aware of the headlines where we live and we’re trying to get people to think.

If Netflix and Marvel makes this release official, which one will you be watching on March 25? Daredevil? Batman v Superman? Both?!
