David S. Goyer Talks ‘Da Vinci’s Demons’ Season 3 and Plays “Save or Kill”

     October 30, 2015

With all ten episodes of the third and final season of Da Vinci’s Demons now available on Starz Play or On Demand (Starz also airs new episodes Saturday nights), I recently sat down with series creator David S. Goyer for a great video interview. While I’ve already posted what he said about the Superman prequel series Krypton, his reaction after seeing Batman v Superman for the first time, and the status of the Sandman movie, I’ve now got him talking about Da Vinci’s Demons season 3 and playing “Save or Kill”.

If you haven’t seen “Save or Kill”, the game reveals which franchises, characters or bands someone would choose when pitted against another of equal value. Han Solo or Indiana Jones – if you were told you could only save one and the other would be erased from existence forever, who would you pick?

Finally, if you missed my video interview with Tom Riley for Da Vinci’s Demons season 3, click here to check it out.

David Goyer:

  • Plays “Save or Kill”
  • Talks about season 3 and the difference between this one and the first two.
  • How big things happen this season.
  • Serialized TV versus episodic.
  • How they changed the season finale once they realized the show was ending.

Leonardo da Vinci’s world comes crashing down when the city of Otranto is torn apart by an Ottoman invasion. On the battlefield, the Turks use da Vinci’s own weapons against him … the designs for which were stolen by someone he trusted. This betrayal will haunt Leo long after the battle is decided, as will the deaths of loved ones lost in the fighting. When Rome instigates a Crusade against the Turks, he seizes the opportunity to join, but his mission is complicated by a series of grisly murders that terrorize Italy and threaten the Crusade itself …
