DEADPOOL Wraps Filming; Pulls a SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION to Mark the Occasion

     May 29, 2015

I’ve been following Deadpool’s development for so long that part of me still has trouble believing it exists, and exists with the team we wanted: Ryan Reynolds, director Tim Miller, and from a screenplay by Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

Filming has now wrapped on Deadpool, and Reynolds has sent out a tweet to mark the occasion with this image:

It would be very Deadpool to put “Brooks Was Here…So was Deadpool”, but I’m willing to meet the character halfway on his graffiti.

Reynolds has been sharing photos throughout filming, and I’ll be curious to see if he keeps checking in with fans, or if he’ll be too busy with other projects. Usually, I don’t care for being inundated with marketing, but I’m willing to make an exception for Deadpool.

Deadpool opens February 12, 2016, and also stars Ed Skrein as Ajax, Morena Baccarin as Copycat, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and T.J Miller as Weasel.

Here’s the official synopsis for Deadpool:

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
