diane-lane-emma-roberts-sliceThe American Film Market continues to rage on, and that means castings on castings on castings. Rising above the noise of all the announcements are Diane Lane and Emma Roberts, both of whom are set to star in interesting films: Felt and Billionaire Boys Club.

Let’s start with Lane, who will be seen next reprising her role of Martha Kent in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Liam Neeson is already set to star as Mark Felt, aka “Deep Throat,” the infamous source of journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein who cracked the Watergate scandal wide open. While Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford portrayed these figures in 1976’s All the President’s Men, arguably the definitive cinematic depiction of the story, Felt is described as a spy thriller.

Now, Neeson has a co-star. According to Variety, Lane will play Felt’s “brilliant, ambitious, and troubled wife,” Audrey, who “shoulders the burden of Felt’s isolated and dangerous struggle against the White House.” Peter Landesman, who wrote and directed Will Smith’s Concussion, will helm Felt from his own script. Shooting is said to begin in March.

Then there’s Roberts. The American Horror Story and Scream Queens star joined the cast of Billionaire Boys Club, which follows the true story of Joe Hunt and Dean Karny. These men ran a Ponzi scheme from which the film gets its title. Angel Elgort (The Fault In Our Stars) plays Hunt, while Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service) takes on Karny. With House of CardsKevin Spacey set as a high roller, Ron Levin, Variety reports Roberts will take the role of Hunt’s love interest, Sydney. James Cox of Straight A’s will direct the film, which he co-wrote with his Wonderland writer Captain Mauzner. Roberts is also set to appear in Nerve, opposite Juliette Lewis and Dave Franco.
