Eva Green Comments on Her Controversial SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR Poster, Saying It’s “A Lot of Noise for Nothing”

Remember when we shared this poster for Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For featuring Eva Green in an outfit too scandalous for the MPAA?  Well now Green has responded to the manufactured controversy surrounding The Weinstein Company’s picture and poster.  In short?  “A lot of noise for nothing.”  Ms. Green certainly isn’t shy about showing off her body, and believes there’s plenty more about the movie business that’s in poorer taste.

Also starring Jessica AlbaMickey RourkeRosario DawsonJoseph Gordon-LevittJosh Brolin, Bruce WillisJaime KingDennis HaysbertChristopher MeloniJeremy PivenRay LiottaJuno Temple, Stacy Keach, and Julia Garner, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For opens on August 22nd.  Hit the jump for Green’s comments.

“Oh, my God, I heard about that. I find it a bit odd. It seems like it’s all just publicity—a lot of noise for nothing. You have so many more violent things in the movie business and this is kind of soft. I’m not naked. It’s suggested…. I’m not actually naked on the poster.”

As far as her opinion of the poster itself:

“I find it really sexy, actually. It’s kind of beautiful. But if it shocks people, I don’t know what to do about it. I don’t want to upset anybody. I don’t want to be seen as just the femme fatale or put into some silly box. I hope that people will have enough imagination.”

While you’ll have to wait until August 22nd to see Green in action in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, you can currently watch her in the Gothic and supernatural Showtime series, Penny Dreadful, which was just renewed for an even bigger second season.
