EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS Wants You to Pull up a Chair and Read the Book of Exodus for 11 Hours

     December 23, 2014

Have you run out of things to watch on the Internet and have 11 hours to kill?  Well Exodus: Gods and Kings has good news for you, because they’ve posted the entire Book of Exodus as scrolling text in a new YouTube video.  The text rises out of the Burning Bush for eleven hours, and I suppose that’s one way to read the Bible.  Of course, Ridley Scott‘s epic takes great liberties with its source material, so if you do choose to read the Book of Exodus, you won’t find parts where God appears as a little kid and tells Moses to be a general, or where Pharaoh’s science adviser tries to explain the first six plagues, or Sigourney Weaver wondering why she’s in the movie for less than two minutes.

Hit the jump to watch the Exodus: Gods and Kings Book of Exodus video.

Here’s the official synopsis for Exodus: Gods and Kings:

From acclaimed director Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Prometheus) comes the epic adventure “Exodus: Gods and Kings,” the story of one man’s daring courage to take on the might of an empire. Using state-of-the-art visual effects and 3D immersion, Scott brings new life to the story of the defiant leader Moses (Christian Bale) as he rises up against the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses (Joel Edgerton), setting 600,000 slaves on a monumental journey of escape from Egypt and its terrifying cycle of deadly plagues.
