We’ve got a couple of casting stories to share this evening.  First up, The Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson is in negotiations to star opposite Benicio Del Toro in the Pablo Escobar drama Paradise Lost.  Per Deadline, Hutcherson will play the lead character of Nick, “a young Irish surfer who visits his brother in Colombia” where he meets the love of his life and her uncle Pablo.  Actor Andrea Di Stefano (Life of Pi) is making his directorial debut on the project, with production set to get underway in March in Panama.  Hutcherson is currently filming the sequel The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in Hawaii.

Hit the jump for news concerning Jackie Chan joining the cast of The Expendables 3.

jackie-chan-the-expendables-3The sequel to The Expendables opened this past summer to a worldwide gross of over $300 million, and so producers have been casting a wide net in gathering some newcomers for the inevitable Expendables 3.  A lot of names have been tossed around (Nicolas Cage, Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes, Clint Eastwood), but as of now no one has officially signed on.

Speaking with Yahoo!, Jackie Chan recently revealed that he will likely be joining Sylvester Stallone and the crew for The Expendables 3:

“Sly had invited me to be in Expendables 2 but I was too busy filming CZ12 and couldn’t make a commitment to the film. But he did extend his invitation to the third movie, which I agreed on the condition that I will be appearing as more than just a minor role with a few scenes.”

Details on the proposed third installment are incredibly thin at the moment, but it certainly sounds like when this thing gets going, it will be with Chan in tow.
