Simon Kinberg Turns in THE FANTASTIC FOUR Script; Testing for Leads of Reed Richards and Sue Storm to Occur Later This Month

     January 21, 2014

112 days ago, we reported that Simon Kinberg would be rewriting the Fantastic Four reboot.  As of today, that rewrite has been turned in, which means 20th Century Fox is expected to start testing leads later this month.  Names circling the lead roles include Miles Teller, Kit Harington and Richard Madden for Reed Richards, with Kate Mara and Saoirse Ronan for Sue Storm.  Michael B. Jordan is reportedly attached to star as Johnny Storm, and will test with each group to determine who has the best chemistry.  Director Josh Trank’s The Fantastic Four is due in theaters June 19, 2015.  Hit the jump for more.

Variety reports fantastic-fourthat Kinberg has turned in his rewrite of The Fantastic Four script, so now lead testing can commence in earnest.  We’ve had Jordan in line for Johnny Storm/Human Torch for a while now, with Teller’s involvement with the picture being nearly as long.  Harington, Ronan and Mara’s names have been buzzing about for a few months, but it seems as if previous contenders Jack O’Connell and Margot Robbie have been left out (from the report, at least).  This is the first time we’re hearing Richard Madden’s name as well.

While we may have plenty of names bandied about for Mr. Fantastic, the Invisible Woman, and the Human Torch, I haven’t heard mention of names for Ben Grimm/Thing just yet.  One would assume he’d be part of the team the others are testing for, but perhaps this will be done at a later date.  Even though Thing will likely be a CG-heavy addition, it’d be of interest to know who the filmmakers have in line for the part.

Head to the comments to let us know your ideal Fantastic Four dream team, and which of the above combinations you think works best.
