Not wanting to be left out of the “big movie trailer” fun, 20th Century Fox revealed a new trailer for its upcoming Marvel Comics reboot Fantastic Four earlier this afternoon, and now they’ve released a new poster for the film as well. Directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle), the pic stars Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell, and Toby Kebbell as a team of scientists who find themselves physically transformed after an inter-dimensional mission goes haywire.
Today’s new trailer was quite promising, as it highlighted a refreshing sense of humor that proves the film isn’t all doom and gloom, and it also gave us our very first look at Kebbell’s aptly named villain Dr. Doom. Moreover, we learned that Reg E. Cathey plays the father of Mara and Jordan’s characters, and the story looks to find the quartet contemplating what to do with their newfound powers.
This new poster, released by Fox, shows the team all together from the front this time around, giving us another nice look at Bell’s transformed The Thing. The photoshop on the faces isn’t great and the gray-toned “destruction” theme in the background isn’t necessarily unique, but I do like the sense of scale that the poster gives for Bell’s character.
Check out the new Fantastic Four poster below. The film opens in theaters on August 7th.
Here’s the official synopsis for Fantastic Four:
FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
