AMC has released the Comic-Con poster for Fear the Walking Dead, the highly anticipated spin-off of The Walking Dead, the channel’s current flagship program. The poster juxtaposes the bucolic summer environs of the background – boardwalks, ferris wheels, rollercoasters, etc. – with the familiar dragging footsteps of the biters that we’ve come to recognize on The Walking Dead. It’s a pretty minimal, nifty bit of advertising, to be honest, and its one of the few things released thus far by AMC to suggest that the spin-off will have an inventive sense of horror completely of its own, rather than just attempting to recreate the style and narrative, to say nothing of the vast philosophical and societal considerations, of the still-awesome original.
