Giovanna Mezzogiorno – Exclusive Video Interview

     November 11, 2007

Opening this Friday is the movie adaptation of the very popular book “Love in the Time of Cholera.” The film traces the vigil of Florentino Ariza, who waits for more than half a century to claim the hand of Fermina Daza, the woman he loves. It’s directed by Mike Newell (“Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” “Four Weddings and a Funeral”), and it features a huge cast that includes Javier Bardem, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Benjamin Bratt, John Leguizamo, Giovanna Mezzogiorno, Hector Elizondo and Liev Schreiber.

So to help promote the movie, earlier today I was able to interview Giovanna Mezzogiorno (she plays Fermina Daza). During our short interview I asked all the usual questions and I also tried to get her to tell me about the new Wim Wenders movie “The Palermo Shooting,” since she’s in it. But while she wouldn’t tell me about the plot, she did say they just wrapped and she seemed very pleased with the way it turned out.

And a little while ago I posted some clips from the movie and an interview with Director Mike Newell. Just click on the links to check out those articles.

Again, “Love in the Time of Cholera” opens this Friday at theaters everywhere.
