First Trailer and Poster for ‘Heist’ with Robert De Niro and Dave Bautista

     September 18, 2015

Robert De Niro has been making some rather interesting career choices lately. He’s played a Bosnian war veteran hunted by a fellow soldier in Killing Season, an aging boxer coming out of retirement in Grudge Match, and an old buddy throwing a bachelor party in Last Vegas. Thankfully, the Oscar-winning actor is still taking prestigious roles from acclaimed filmmakers; unfortunately, Heist offers neither of these.

Previously known as Bus 657Heist stars De Niro as The Pope, a casino-owning gangster who soon finds himself the victim of a high-stakes robbery committed by Vaughn (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Cox (Dave Bautista). The first trailer for the Scott Mann-directed thriller plays up the Ocean’s Eleven angle of the heist, but the second half takes it into much stranger territory. It seems that the heist team didn’t quite have their getaway planned as well as they should have, since they are forced to hijack a city bus as they flee the scene. You can thank/blame screenwriters Stephen Cyrus Sepher and Max S. Adams for this silly mash-up.

Also starring Kate Bosworth, Gina Carano, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, D.B. Sweeney, Lydia Hull, and Tyler J. Olson, with Morris Chestnut, Heist will open in select theaters and will be available On Demand starting November 13th.

Here’s the official synopsis for Heist:

When their attempt to rob a casino owned by the feared gangster Pope (Robert De Niro) goes awry and a shootout ensues, Vaughn (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Cox (Dave Bautista) are forced to flee on foot and hijack city Bus 657 and take the passengers hostage.  Now, in a high speed chase, Vaughn will not only have to outwit the police, led by Officer Bajos (Gina Carano) who are in hot pursuit, but he will have to contend with Pope’s maniacal right hand man, Dog (Morris Chestnut), in order to make it through the day alive.  But we quickly learn that things are not what they seem, and Vaughn has more than one card up his sleeve.
