‘Inside Amy Schumer’ Season 4 Trailer Checks Up on the Overxposed ‘Trainwreck’ Star

     March 17, 2016

Amy Schumer has a tremendous 2015. Not only did she star in the summer’s only great comedy, Judd Apatow‘s Trainwreck, and do some skillful work in her first HBO stand-up special, she also hooked up with Jennifer Lawrence to write a screenplay and finished up the third and best season of her Comedy Central series, Inside Amy Schumer, thus far. Following her partnership with Lawrence and the success of Trainwreck, one might imagine that she might let her show, which has become one of Comedy Central’s biggest hits, fall out of sight, while she prepares for what seems like a full slate of big-screen works. She’s not, of course, but that’s the central joke of the first trailer for the fourth season of Inside Amy Schumer, which sees her talking with her doctor about being overexposed. You can check out the trailer below:

The trailer broke through EW, and if you got to the end of the trailer, you’ll notice that there’s also been a release date set for the premiere of season 4, that being April 21st. That means that we will get our next round of prime Schumer material in just about a month from now, which is great news – it’s been awhile since Schumer’s HBO stand-up special and an avid fan like myself is starting to feel the absence.

Beyond the Lawrence project, Schumer is also currently attached to Jonathan Levine’s untitled next comedy, which is currently slated for a 2017 release. The film would pair Schumer with one of her most obvious forbearers, Goldie Hawn, and the duo will be playing a mother-daughter team in the reported action-comedy film. Levine just mad the best film of his career thus far with The Night Before, the hugely underrated Christmas comedy co-starring Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, so even beyond the prospect of Hawn and Schumer working together, this project is already high on my most-anticipated list, though not quite as much as the new season of Inside Amy Schumer.
