it-movie-pennywise-costumeA new image dropped right before the show and it’s the first, full look at Pennywise the Clown from the upcoming adaptation of the Stephen King novel It. The movie stars Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise and opens on September 8, 2017. The film also stars Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff,Chosen Jacobs, and Jeremy Ray Taylor.

Today the full trailer dropped for Arrival, the latest from Prisoners and Sicario director Dennis Villeneuve. Amy Adams stars as a linguist recruited by the US Army to try and communicate with aliens who hover above Earth in a group of strange spacecrafts in an effort to avoid global war. The science-fiction drama will compete in the Venice Film Festival before landing in theaters on November 11.

A highly stylized, red-band trailer for Fede Alvarez’s Don’t Breathe hit the web last week and the preview is underscored by the words, “Really effed up.” It’s a fast paced, effective look at the horror/ thriller reuniting Evil Dead’s Jane Levy with Alvarez. Don’t Breathe is in theaters on August 26.

From the guys who brought you the original, What’s in the box??? comes a very interesting story out of Variety: apparently Brad Pitt is courting David Fincher to direct the World War Z sequel and the studio has made an offer to Fincher. Variety notes that the sequel is set to hit theaters June 9, 2017 but since no director has been hired, that date is likely to change.

While many don’t understand why Steven Spielberg doesn’t just direct a horror movie himself, for crying out loud, he certainly is fond of producing them. From Poltergeist to Gremlins to Arachnophobia to Monster House to 1999’s The Haunting, Spielberg and 28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo have teamed up to bring a new feature film, Haunted, to the big screen. Game of Thrones star Rose Leslie has signed on to join Alfre Woodard in the gothic ghost story written by The Hayes Brothers (The Conjuring, Conjuring 2).

stranger-things-logoAll your synth-y Stranger Things dreams are about to come true: the 80s inspired score to the Netflix fan favorite by Kyle Dion and Michael Stein is coming to vinyl from Lakeshore Records.

Scream Queens returns for its sophomore season on September 20 but until then, fans can feast their eyes on a new teaser trailer and plenty of character posters.

This week David Cronenberg’s classic The Fly turns 30 years old. Remembered for its astonishingly grotesque and masterful special effects, the film won an Oscar for Best Makeup. Produced by Mel Brooks and starring Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis, The Fly still stands the test of time and is without a doubt one of the most enduring horror-dramas of the last fifty years.

Make sure you head back here tomorrow at 11am pst for an all new episode of Collider’s flagship show, Collider Movie Talk. Tomorrow, guest host John Campea is joined by Mark Ellis, Jon Schnepp, and special guest Jeremy Jahns! See you tomorrow!
