First up from Heat Vision is news that Clarke may join Hardy in Child 44, a 1950s Soviet-set thriller adapted from the Tom Rob Smith novel.  Hardy plays a Soviet military policeman who discovers that his own government is looking into his actions as he attempts to solve a string of grisly child murders.  Clarke is in talks to play Brodsky, a man accused of being a traitor by Hardy’s character.  The excellent cast also includes Noomi RapaceJoel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Paddy Considine and Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

As Deadline reports, Moretz will star in If I Stay, based on Gayle Forman’s 2009 young-adult novel.  The thriller centers on “a teenager (Moretz) who is in a coma after a car wreck that decimates her family. She has an out-of-body experience in the hospital and is faced with the choice between continuing what will be a difficult life or simply giving up.”  The search is on for additional cast members.  Production is planning a late-October start in Vancouver.

From The Wrap comes news that Copley will star in the heroic lead of Hardcore, a stylized sci-fi actioner that sees him taking out a bunch of baddies in order to save a damsel in distress.  Further plot details are not available at this moment, but the film is said to be based on Naishuller’s original screenplay and inspired by his short film, Bad Motherfucker.  The feature will also be produced in part by Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted).

Also from Heat Vision comes the world that Reiser is the latest addition to Life After Beth.  Dane DeHaan (Chronicle) stars as “a young man who struggles to continue his relationship with his girlfriend Beth, (Aubrey Plaza), after she resurrects from the dead.”  Reiser will play DeHaan’s father, opposite John C. Reilly as Plaza’s dad.  Production on the film began this week in Los Angeles.
