Joel Edgerton Gets LIFE; Greg Mottola to Direct Jon Hamm and Zach Galifianakis in KEEPING UP WITH THE JONESES; Ciaran Hinds Joins AGENT 47

Here’s the latest casting additions to the following films:

  • Joel Edgerton is set for Anton Corbijn’s Life, starring opposite Robert Pattinson and Dane DeHaan.
  • Jon Hamm and Zach Galifianakis are in negotiations to star in the spy comedy Keeping Up with the Joneses, which now has Greg Mottola attached to direct.
  • Ciaran Hinds has joined Aleksander Bach’s Hitman sequel, Agent 47, starring Rupert Friend, Zachary Quinto, and Thomas Kretschmann.

ciaran-hinds-agent-47First up from Variety is word that Edgerton will join Life, which recently began shooting in Ontario, Canada.  “The story centers on the friendship that developed between photographer Dennis Stock (Pattinson) and actor James Dean (DeHaan) when Stock was commissioned to photograph the star for “Life” magazine in 1955. The assignment took the pair on a photographic journey from Los Angeles to New York and on to Indiana.”  Edgerton stars as Magnum Photography editor, John Morris, who negotiated the deal for the photos with “Life”.

THR reports that Mottola is officially on board to direct Keeping Up with the Joneses, with Hamm and Galifianakis in negotiations to star.  The picture has been in development for a few years with producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald shepherding.  “The script follows a type-A couple in an idyllic suburban neighborhood who discover that their new, seemingly perfect neighbors are undercover agents.”

Finally, Heat Vision has Hinds joining Agent 47 in an undisclosed role, except to say that it’s a pivotal one with a scientific emphases.  Friend stars in the title role as the engineered assassin, while Quinto and Kretschmann take on villainous roles.
