Joey King Talks OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL, Working with Sam Raimi, THE CONURING, WHITE HOUSE DOWN, and More

     June 5, 2013

With director Sam Raimi’s fantastic prequel to The Wizard of OzOz The Great and Powerful, hitting DVD, Blu-ray, and Blu-ray 3D on June 11th, I recently landed an exclusive video interview with Joey King (who plays China Girl).  As most of you know, the film centers on a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics (James Franco) who finds himself transported to Oz and drawn into a battle between the three witches Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams).  Loaded with incredible visuals, amazing 3D, and a beautiful world created by production designer Robert Stromberg (Alice in Wonderland, Avatar), Oz is the type of movie I can see families watching together for years to come.

During the interview, King talked about her reaction to seeing the finished film for the first time,  collaborating with Sam Raimi, what it was like walking on the yellow brick road for the first time, the complicated nature of shooting the movie, and much more.  In addition, she also talked about what it’s been like working on such high profile projects over the past year, her reaction to watching The Conjuring and White House Down, what it was like working with Channing Tatum, and more.  Hit the jump to watch.
