jon-hamm-minionsPer Deadline, Mad Men actor Jon Hamm will be voicing one of the lead roles in the Despicable Me spinoff MinionsSandra Bullock is already onboard to voice the film’s primary villain, but details regarding Hamm’s character are unknown at this point.  One imagines he won’t simply be making goofy noises as one of the titular characters.  Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud (Despicable Me) are directing Minions, which hits theaters in 3D on December 19, 2014.

Additionally, Olga Kurlyenko has joined the cast of director Mark Waters’ Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters.  Based on the young adult book series of the same name by Richelle Mean, the story centers on half-human Dhampir bodyguards and their vampire charges who both train at St. Vladimir’s Academy.  Zoey Deutch (Beautiful Creatures), Lucy Fry, and Danila Kozlovski (We Are From the Future) are already set to star, and Deadline reports that Kurylenko will be playing the head mistress of the titular Vampire Academy.

Finally, Andy Garcia and Ray Romano have joined the cast of the crime drama Rob the Mob.  Described as True Romance-esque, the story centers on a couple who stumble upon a list of every Mafioso in town while brazenly stealing from mob-run social clubs in New York City.  Michael Pitt and Nina Arianda star as the couple, but Deadline’s report doesn’t specify who Garcia and Roman will play in the drama.  Production is already underway with Raymond De Felitta directing.
