KINGS OF SUMMER Star Nick Robinson in Talks to Join JURASSIC WORLD

     October 15, 2013

Director Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) continues to fill out the cast for the fourth Jurassic Park film Jurassic World, and it appears that he’s casting the younger roles first.  We learned yesterday that young Insidious and Iron Man 3 star Ty Simpkins had landed a lead in the film, and now Heat Vision reports that 18-year-old Nick Robinson is in talks to sign on.  Though plot details are being kept under wraps, Robinson is apparently in line to play the older brother of Simpkins’ character, with the film being built as an ensemble.  Robinson had a breakout lead role in this summer’s indie The Kings of Summer, and he should make a fine addition to the Jurassic Park franchise.

Bryce Dallas Howard is also in talks to star in Jurassic World, with New Girl standout Jake Johnson apparently in the mix for a role as well.  This certainly doesn’t feel like a “traditional” blockbuster cast, and that’s a good thing; it’s nice to see Trevorrow bringing his indie sensibilities to the JP series.  Expect plenty more casting news in the coming weeks.  Jurassic World opens June 12, 2015.
