‘Jurassic World Evolution’ Trailer Reveals the SimCity-Like Park-Building Adventure Game

     March 29, 2018

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom arrives this June 22nd, but if you want more of a hands-on experience in managing your own theme park fraught with prehistoric peril, then Jurassic World Evolution is for you! As a bonus, the Frontier Developments game, releasing on June 12th, will arrive even earlier than the sequel. The pre-order trailer, for what I 100% thought was a mobile game but turns out to be a console/PC game (whoops!), arrived today to what I can only assume is a thunderous roar of approval.

Jurassic World Evolution will be a “business simulation game”, much like running a simple virtual lemonade stand or amusement park with the ultimate goal of becoming a tycoon of a vast empire that snuffs out your competition. Except in this case, the very attractions at the park might end up snacking on your visitors, which really is not going to make your shareholders happy. As the new trailer shows, the game has you juggling a lot of elements from construction, to containment, to dino-selection, to visitor approval ratings; it’s sort of a RollerCoaster Tycoon meets SimCity meets Turok, so yeah, we’re on board.

Build your own Jurassic World, bioengineer new dinosaur breeds, and construct attractions, containment, and research facilities. Every choice leads to a different path and spectacular challenges arise when ‘life finds a way.’
