KICK-ASS Goes GREEK for Clark Duke

Clark Duke- star of the ABC Family series “Greek,” is the latest young actor to sign on for Matthew Vaughn’s “Kick-Ass.”

For those of you who are too hip to admit that you watch anything on ABC Family, you may also recognize Duke as Michael Cera’s sidekick on the VERY funny website “Clark and Michael.” He’s the pleasingly plump fellow who beats up a girl and then gets mistaken for a girl… his parents blessed him with the androgynous gene.

While Michael and Clark spend their time online trying to further their Hollywood ambitions, in real life Clark Duke is gaining traction. Aside from a small role in “Superbad” and this “Greek” thing, Duke will soon be seen in the Seth Green comedy “Sex Drive” and now – “Kick-Ass.” So am I the only one who is seeing a pattern in these tiles?

Innuendo aside, in Vaughn’s adaptation of the Mark Millar comic “Kick-Ass,” Clark will play Marty – the best friend of Dave Lizewski. Marty is unaware that Dave is also the superhero ‘Kick-Ass’ in his off-hours. The character is described on Moviehole as a plump teen who loves comic books… so basically, Duke just needs to channel his inner Kevin Smith here.
