NBC Renews LAW & ORDER: SVU for 14th Season and Gives Series Order to Dick Wolf’s CHICAGO FIRE Drama Series

     May 9, 2012

Good news for fans of the long-running legacy of Dick Wolf, the mad who has brought us countess episodes of crime drama, mostly through various Law & Order series. NBC has given a fourteenth season order to Law & Order: SVU, which means we’ll get plenty more crime drama with big name guest stars (easily the best part of the series) committing violent crimes across the board. In addition, for those who may not be fans of justice in the form of Law & Order, there’s a new series coming from Wolf which you can read more about after the jump.

It may not be the most original idea on TV as various series have dealt with almost all the emergency response professions, but coming from Dick Wolf, this could be something great, especially with House M.D. star Jesse Spencer leading a cast of relatively unknown stars leading it that include: Eamonn Walker, Taylor Kinney, Monica Raymund, David Eigenberg, Charlie Barnett, Lauren German, Teri Reeves and Merle Dandridge. Hopefully it sticks around longer than The Chicago Code, a police drama from The Shield creator Shawn Ryan that was sorely underrated and cancelled all too soon

There’s likely plenty more on the way from Wolf at NBC as the TV giant has also signed a new deal to keep his programming at the network for a little while longer, including some sort of new reality series down the road. Maybe it puts people in situations where they have to deal with law and order in “real life” this time? It’s reality TV, so we’re not all that interested, but stay tuned for more on Chicago Fire and other forthcoming new series for the fall season as the upfronts are inching closer.
