‘Legends of Tomorrow’ Image Reveals Hawkman and Hawkgirl

     September 11, 2015

The first look at the hawk-heroes in The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow will likely launch legions of leather-clad cosplayers at next year’s conventions. Carter Hall / Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) wields a mighty mace alongside Kendra Saunders / Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee), who’s dressed to match in leather armor and hawk-winged helm. These helmets are better than Diggle’s but why does The CW’s headwear always seem disproportionately big?

In this iteration of Hawkman and Hawkgirl, Hall is the latest reincarnation of an Egyptian Prince who goes through reincarnation cycles for centuries at a time along with his soul mate, Saunders. They can each access the powers of Horus, the hawk-headed Egyptian sky god, giving them the ability to fly. The main difference between them is Hall’s retention of millennia-worth of memories, which Saunders lacks. They will both appear in the crossover event between Arrow and The Flash before starring in the Legends of Tomorrow spin-off series mid-season.

Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat – one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?
