Watch: Lena Dunham’s GIRLS Character Joins the LATE NIGHT Writers Room

     March 19, 2015

Plenty of people either love or hate the HBO series Girls, and creator/co-showrunner Lena Dunham is well aware of the polarizing nature of her show and, in particular, her central character Hannah Horvath. The series itself has addressed some of these criticisms to varying degrees of success; Marnie continues to be the worst human being on the planet, while Hannah takes a “two steps forward, three steps back” approach to evolving into an adult. And for what it’s worth, Adam Driver‘s character is still one of the best things on all of television right now.

Dunham and her Girls co-showrunner Jenni Konner are currently in the midst of writing the series’ upcoming fifth season, but the actress appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers last night in anticipation of the Season 4 finale this coming Sunday.

As part of her Late Night appearance, Dunham and Meyers put together a little short sketch in which Hannah Horvath joins the Late Night with Seth Meyers writing staff. The results are honestly really funny, as Dunham takes the opportunity to address many of the criticisms about the show and/or Hannah specifically, with Hannah unsurprisingly acting like she knows everything, and taking offense at any and every minor faux pas that she sees occur during the pitch meeting.

Whether you love or hate Dunham and/or Girls, I think you’ll probably get a kick out of this video if only for Hannah’s highly sexualized suggestions for Late Night bits for Meyers to do on the air. Watch the video below.
