Deal Stalls on LOST Spin-Off Series JACK’S TATTOOS

     March 31, 2015

Sorry, Losties — it looks like the highly-anticipated Lost spin-off series Jack’s Tattoos is not happening. After the hugely positive fan reaction to the third season episode “Stranger in a Strange Land,” ABC was looking to develop a Lost spin-off starring the now-beloved characters of Achara (Bai Ling) and “Doctor Jack want soda?” boy, played by Shannon Chanhthanam. (Will people ever stop quoting this? It’s been a thing for almost a year now).

Last week, an ABC spokesman said of the potential series:

Fans really reacted in such positive and overwhelming ways to the backstory of how Jack (Matthew Fox) got his tattoos that we felt there was so much more to explore there. Jack might even be getting some new tattoos to make the mystery even richer!

We were also told a few weeks ago that the potential series would feature Jack trying more Thai cuisine and local delicacies, as he engages in a “will-they-won’t-they” relationship with Achara.

Unfortunately, none of that appears like it will come to pass. News broke today that ABC has not picked up the pilot, so for now we won’t be seeing any more of Jack’s Phuket backstory. Still, fans can remain hopeful that the proposed Nikki And Paulo-centric prequel Diamonds Are Forever — which will follow Paulo (Rodrigo Santoro) turning into a con man in Brazil, his relationship with Nikki (Kiele Sanchez), and their lives leading up to their appearance on Lost — is still in the works.

Lost airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
