Limited Paper: Mondo Announces New Posters for TAXI DRIVER, BEETLEJUICE and GAME OF THRONES

     March 13, 2013

Are we in the middle of Mondo’s busiest week ever?  It’s certainly starting to feel that way.  For the past 24 hours, new announcements have dropped with clockwork regularity, revealing new prints from Limited Paper-favored artists like Martin Ansin, Ken Taylor, and JC Richards, and most of that is on top of the heavily-hyped, sure-to-be-awesome, in-all-likelihood-record-selling Stout & Taylor show opening at the Mondo Gallery on Friday evening.  What do these prints look like, when can you get ‘em, and what can you expect in the way of coverage from Limited Paper over the next few days?  Find out after the jump, folks.

Last Friday, the Mondo Gallery—in association with the fine folks at HBO—opened up its doors to reveal their recently-announced Game of Thrones gallery show.  Just a few days later, the show was closed so that the Mondo crew could get their eagerly-anticipated Stout & Taylor showcase (which opens this Friday).  With all that going on, Mondo would’ve been forgiven if they hadn’t released anything else this week…but in yet another expectation-defying move, they’ve zigged left when fans everywhere expected them to zag right:  rather than resting on their laurels between shows, they’ve filled the space with a trio of announcements that are just as exciting as anything else they’ve got going on during SXSW 2013.

In the interest of convenience, we’re going to do things a little different today.  As per usual, we’re going to show you the prints that’ve been announced along with the usual batch of info we attach to every image (price, size, edition, etc).  On top of that, we’re also including the location and approximate time that fans can expect to be able to buy these pieces .  Let’s get started:

  • North of The Wall by JC Richard
  • 15.5×36”
  • $45 regular edition of 365
  • Tomorrow morning/afternoon via, follow @MondoNews for updates

  • Harbinger by Ken Taylor

  • $50 regular edition of 440
  • $75 variant edition of 225
  • Both on sale tomorrow morning/afternoon via, follow @MondoNews for the updates

  • Taxi Driver by Martin Ansin
  • 36×24” (we’re assuming)
  • Unknown edition size
  • $75 for a ticket to a March 22nd Drafthouse Screening of Taxi Driver, includes poster (buy a ticket here)

  • Beetlejuice by Ken Taylor via Bad Ass Digest
  • 24×36”
  • $50 regular edition of 400
  • $75 variant edition of 205
  • Available at the Stout & Taylor show this Friday, public opening at 7pm

Well, for anyone keeping score:  we now have definitive posters for Taxi Driver and Beetlejuice.  No need to create anything else, Earth– Taylor and Ansin have  this shit on lockdown.  To everyone that’s going after these (and you should be), Limited Paper offers you the best of luck.  Something tells me that the competition’s going to be fierce on these going forward.  As for the rest of the week:  you can stay tuned for exclusive interviews with Tyler Stout, Ken Taylor, photos and a video walking tour of the Stout & Taylor gallery show, and more.  Gonna be an awesome week/weekend, folks.  Stay tuned.

As always, if you’re an artist or gallery with artwork you’d like to see featured on Limited Paper (or if you’re just some lucky bastard who happened to overhear a bit of poster-related gossip while standing in the bushes outside Martin Ansin’s house) we wanna hear from you!  Email Limited Paper directly at, and be sure that you’re following us on Twitter via @LimitedPaper for ongoing commentary, news updates, giveaways, and more!
