Our very first look at some footage from The Maze Runner sequel, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, has finally arrived! Fox just unveiled the first trailer for the film, which teases what happens to the Gladers after they make their way out of The Maze and into The Scorch.
As someone who knows James Dashner‘s source material quite well, I’ve been looking forward to seeing certain characters and locations come to life on screen for the first time, but I didn’t expect the trailer to keep me guessing quite like this. It definitely seems like T.S. Nowlin made some changes, but thanks to the pace and intensity of the piece, they all feel right. It also looks as though Wes Ball is keeping the bar sky high as far as his visuals go, delivering quality VFX and giving every single shot an especially rich, textured quality.
Check out the very first Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials trailer below. The film opens in theaters on September 18th and stars Dylan O’Brien, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Kaya Scodelario, Giancarlo Esposito, Ki Hong Lee, Rosa Salazar and Jacob Lofland.
