Monday TV Ratings: ‘Jane the Virgin’ Dips, ‘Gotham’ Holds Steady

     October 13, 2015

The Monday TV ratings for October 12th are in; here are some of the highlights:

  • CBS ruled the night, leading with The Big Bang Theory at 8 p.m., which saw a minor uptick to a 3.8 in the demo and a little under 15 million viewers.
  • Unfortunately, the rest of CBS’s Monday-night lineup remained flat, with Life in Pieces picking up a 1.9 in the 8:30 p.m. slot, taking in some 8.3 million viewers and Scorpion, at 9 p.m., grabbing a 1.8 in the demo with about 9.3 million in its audience. NCIS: LA dropped down to a 1.1 in the demo, with about 7.7 million viewers.

The CW saw one of its bigger hits return this week, namely Jane the Virgin, which strangely saw a drop in its viewership in the 9 p.m. slot, with 0.9 in the demo and a little over 1 million viewers. Numbers were similarly not great for the premiere of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend in the 8 p.m. slot, grabbing 0.3 and a little under 1 million viewers.

  • Fox saw Gotham hold steady in its 8 p.m. slot, bringing in 1.5 in the key demos and some 4.1 million viewers.
  • Meanwhile, Minority Report, one of Fox’s more promising pilots which is sadly underperforming, also held steady with a 0.7 in the key demo and 2.1 million viewers in total.
  • Making it something of a pattern, NBC saw both The Voice and Blindspot remaining relatively even with last week, although final ratings had the latter adjusted down and former adjusted up. Blindspot ended up taking a 2.5 with 8.5 million viewers in the 10 p.m. time slot, while The Voice nabbed a 3.2 in the demo and 11.7 million viewers in the 8 p.m. time slot.
  • Finally, ABC saw slight drops in both of its Monday night heavy hitters, with Castle sliding to a 1.2 in the 10 p.m. time slot, taking in some 7.3 million viewers, and Dancing with the Stars, in the 8 p.m. slot, getting a 1.7 in the key demo with 11.7 million viewers in total.
